A quick note before I listen – everyone keeps saying the system failed; I don’t, I won’t, I can’t. The system didn’t fail, it worked how its suppose to. Throughout the history of this nation, black lives, when taken by white men or women, have mattered less. Judicially, black lives have been disrespected and portrayed as less than whites. This is who the nation is! It may be hard to fathom or even accept – actually I take that back, its quite easy to accept because it requires no actions – but it’ll never change until those benefiting from white supremacy stand up and say “I reject whiteness, I reject white supremacy and pledge my life to eradicating the evil system it has built”, only then will things change. (This change will include, economics for all people, culture for all people and the interactivity between all people).
