SOLVED! #39 - Why You Should Care About Prisons in the Fight for a Better World SOLVED! #39 - Why You Should Care About Prisons in the Fight for a Better World (Throwback)

Re-Air Date: 9-5-26

Original Air Date: 4-24-26

Welcome to this throwback edition of Solved, the short-lived show too beautiful for this world, hosted by the producers of the award-winning Best of the Left podcast. We wanted to share this episode, Why You Should Care About Prisons in the Fight for a Better World, while we take a break, because the ICE detention and deportation regime is continuing to get worse, and it's not just an immigration story. It's also a carceral one. There have been more than 50 deaths in a 500-day period, making it worse than peak COVID. Detainees have no access to grievance systems, and the private prison companies are making billions. So here's what the Best of the Left team had to say about prisons back in April of this year.

  • Ch. 3 - The local fight over a proposed mega-prison in Arkansas making some conservatives question mass incarceration itself
