    Peter, as long as you continue to fail to understand and acknowledge the existence of structural racism and other structural forms of oppression you will continue fail to understand the movements against those systems. I recommend reading The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander before making your next comment on the subject.

    Since when has anyone ignored what a black person has ever said simply because they were black? I mean, besides the occasional actual racist, who can be dealt with on an individual basis. What media platforms have ever stopped any black protestors from getting a voice? They all seem quite eager to get a microphone in front of them instead. If you think that white people’s word will be taken more seriously than a black person’s, you may be the racist here, and are projecting your insecurity onto everyone around you. If you actually believed that whites and blacks were equal, you wouldn’t need a white person to testify on your behalf, because your voice is just as valid as theirs.
