    Yeah, you can totally give money to the United States government. There are lots of ways to do it. The other comment noted the conscience fund. You can also just give a gift to the United States government through the treasury department. It goes into the general budget. There’s another way that you can specify your gift goes to reducing the debt. Further, In particular reference to the subject at hand, representatives can earmark a percentage of their salary to go back to the federal government. A few do.

    You actually can give money to the federal government. It’s called the conscience fund. You simply make a check out to the IRS, write conscience fund on it and drop it in the mail to the internal revenue service. The money will be deposited and it will not be refunded to you.
